Heavenly Father, I come to You through the all-powerful Name of Jesus to thank you for this time of the year when many young people are going back to school. We want to bring to You all our loved ones and friends who will be in school. I ask You to give the young people the ability to comprehend what is being taught. I ask that You give them discernment and wisdom to know when something is being shared that is not in agreement with the teaching in Your Word. James 1:5 says, “if any of You lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him.“
In the school environment we have today, I ask that You put a hedge of protection around the students and the teachers to keep them safe from the ways of the evil one. I ask for what Jesus said: “I do not pray that You should take them out of the world, but that You should keep them from the evil one” John 17:15.
As these young people face the many temptations in school, encourage them to daily spend time in Your Word for direction and guidance. Make the words in Psalm 119:9 a great desire of theirs. “How can a young man cleanse his way? By taking heed according to Your word.” I especially ask that if any do not have a relationship with Jesus as their Savior that You would direct them to make that the highest priority this year.
I bring these thoughts in Jesus’ Name, Amen.
