Heavenly Father, I come in Jesus’ Name to thank You for the many spiritual and physical blessings You provided last year. Psalm 84:11 “For the LORD God is a sun and shield; the LORD will give grace and glory; no good thing will He withhold from those who walk uprightly.”

Some events ​of the past year have been very difficult and hard for me to understand. However, I ask You to direct me to comprehend and accept what You tell me in Romans 8:28. “And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.”

It is a great blessing that You have given Your powerful Word to me in the Bible. In fact, there are no writings that compare. When we as believers are attacked by Satan, it is quoting Your Word that defeats him. We can try quoting philosophers or other authors, but to no avail.

As I begin this new year, bless me with Psalm 119:18. “Open my eyes, that I may see wondrous things from Your law.” When I come to the end of this coming year, may I be able to look back and see that in all instances this verse has been a reality for me.

As I watch the news and see chaos, hatred, bitterness, and evil around the world, encourage me to continually keep my eyes focused on You through worship and praise. Thank you that when all is said and done I can rest in Your promise in Romans 8:38-39. “For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

In Jesus’ Name, “praise God from whom all blessings flow.”
