Heavenly Father, I come to You through the Name of Your Son Jesus to give You thanks and praise for Your constant goodness, especially in stressful times. You remind me in this Psalm, like you did David, that You want to and will be my constant refuge and strength. Verse 3: “For You are my rock and my fortress; therefore, for Your name’s sake, lead me and guide me.” However, like in David’s case, in order for You to intercede on behalf of any problems I might have, I am willing to give myself to completely trusting in You. Verse 5: “Into Your hand I commit my spirit; You have redeemed me, O LORD God of truth.

In light of all that is expressed in this Psalm, direct me to rest in the fact that You have stored up great things for those who know and fear Your mighty hand. Teach me to put my hope in You, for nothing else can satisfy. Only You can fill my heart with joy and contentment. Everything else will just leave me lacking and miserable. Verse 19: “Oh how great is Your goodness, which You have laid up for those who fear You, which You have prepared for those who trust in You in the presence of the sons of men!

Lord, as I go through life with its many complications and uncertainties, I ask that You constantly take me back to Your Word for encouragement and direction. I would like to be able to say in all situations what David said in verse 14 and 15a: “But as for me, I trust in You, O LORD; I say, “You are my God. My times are in Your hand.’

In Jesus’ precious Name I pray, amen.

Heavenly Father, I come to You in Jesus’ Name to thank You for inviting me to practice Proverbs 3:5-6Trust in the LORD with all your heart (vs. 5a). It is with love that I come to You to ask You to direct me in getting my mind off of my situation and on to You, all-loving God.

And Lean not on your own understanding (vs. 5b). As I look around and think about it, there is no other place to turn but to You. All human solutions to my problems are inadequate. I turn to You because I believe that what You tell me in Your Word, the Bible, is true. In Mark 10:27 You are shown to be all-powerful. “With men it is impossible, but not with God; for with God all things are possible.” In Psalm 139:1-2 You tell me that You are all-knowing and everywhere present. “O LORD, You have searched me and known me. You know my sitting down and my rising up; You understand my thought afar off.

In all your ways acknowledge Him (vs. 6a). In this specific situation I come to You, resting in what You tell me to do in Jeremiah 33:3. “Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know.

And He will direct your path” (vs. 6b). In closing I am going to put my trust in Your promise in Psalm 50:15.”Call upon Me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you, and you shall glorify Me.

Thank you for allowing me to bring this prayer in Jesus’ Name, Amen.
