All powerful Heavenly Father, I come in the Name of my Savior, Jesus Christ, to thank You for the protection You give from the attacks of the evil one. 2 Thessalonians 3:3But the Lord is faithful, who will establish you and guard you from the evil one.

You illustrate in a number of places in Your Word (the Bible) that You will place a hedge of protection around Your children. Job 1:10Have You not made a hedge around him, around his household, and around all that he has on every side?” As the world rages in chaos, I entrust the safety of my loved ones and friends (list their names here) into Your hands for a strong hedge of protection around them.

Since Your Word is crucial in this, I ask that You put a strong desire in their heart and mind to read and allow the power of Your Word to direct them in every phase of their life. Hebrews 4:12For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

Let every dark place in their life be exposed to the bright light of Your truth so that nothing is hidden and everything is exposed. In John 8:12b Jesus said, “I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life.

I ask that Your presence be very near to my loved ones and friends and that You go with them wherever they go. May Your angels always be at their side. I know that there is a limit to how much I can do, but You can protect them in all things. Direct me to loosen my desire for control and allow You to be their protector and guide.

It is in the loving, compassionate Name of Jesus I pray these things. Amen.

Prayer About Being a Partaker of God’s Divine Nature Based on 2 Peter 1:1-10

Perfect Heavenly Father, I come to You in the Name of my Savior Jesus Christ to bring You praise and thanks for Your perfect divine nature. It is a great blessing that You impart to me, a born-again believer, the choice to live righteously. 2 Peter 1:3-4As His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue, by which have been given to us exceedingly great and precious promises, that through these you may be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.

Because it is clear in Your Word that I do not have the resources and power to live a life full of glory and virtue, I ask that You direct me with Your moral goodness. 2 Corinthians 5:21For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.

Thank you for the gift of Your divine nature so that if I desire, I am able to escape worldly desires for sin and be an effective, fruitful tool for You and Your glory. I ask that You direct me to put all my trust and hope in Your perfection. Develop in me the path You have laid out, leading from virtue all the way to love. 2 Peter 1:5c-7Add to your faith virtue, to virtue knowledge, to knowledge self-control, to self-control perseverance, to perseverance godliness, to godliness brotherly kindness, and to brotherly kindness love.” Shape me to Your will and use me as You will.” Amen.

God’s Desire for a Believer’s Complete Commitment to Him

Loving Heavenly Father, I come to You through the Name of Jesus, longing to be totally committed to You and Your purpose for me in this world. Thank you for telling me in Your Word, the Bible, what Your desire is for me. Deuteronomy 6:5 You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength.

I realize that in my own strength, I am too weak and frail to accomplish what You want for me. Direct me to be alert and aware of all kinds of possible temptations that come my way. Since temptations strike in my most vulnerable areas of life, give me a sensitivity to the subtleties of them (like a news alert). Spiritually equip me to overcome the desires and the powers of the flesh and Satan. It is You alone, through Your Word and prayer, who can provide the strength to shore up my defenses against the power of my flesh. Mark 14:38 Watch and pray, lest you enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.

Father, it is my desire, with Your direction, to practice Jesus’ commandment in Mathew 22:37-39. “You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like it: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’

In Jesus’ Name, thank you for saving me from my sinful flesh and giving me the opportunity to live in the Spirit. Amen.

Genuine Faith

Heavenly Father, in Jesus’ Name, develop in me genuine faith like Habakkuk had in Habakkuk 3:19 in spite of all his difficulties. “The LORD God is my strength; He will make my feet like deer’s feet, and He will make me walk on my high hills.

Jesus Christ, the True Light

Heavenly Father, in Jesus’ Name, I thank You that the life and light referred to in the Old Testament’s golden lamp stand are now represented by Jesus Christ, God’s true tabernacle. Psalm 27:1The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The LORD is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?

Forgiving and Loving Others

Merciful Heavenly Father, in Jesus’ Name, keep me sensitive and practicing the instruction in Colossians 3:13. “Bearing with one another, and forgiving one another, if anyone has a complaint against another; even as Christ forgave you, so you also must do.

A Gift from God

Gracious Heavenly Father, in Jesus’ Name, thank you for giving me the gift the world cannot give, as expressed in John 14: 27. “Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

Using the Right Words

All wise Heavenly Father, in Jesus’ Name, direct my speech to always follow Colossians 4:6. “Let your speech always be with grace, seasoned with salt, that you may know how you ought to answer each one.

God’s Promise of Completion

Heavenly Father, in Jesus’ Name, thank you for the promise You expressed through Paul in Philippians 1:6. “Being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ.

2021 Easter Prayer: Characteristics of Jesus’ Birth and Resurrection

Loving Heavenly Father, in Jesus’ Name, thank you for sending Your Son to die on the cruel cross for the ugliness of my sin and the sins of every other person. It is because of Jesus’ death, burial, and resurrection that You have provided me with unlimited joy and graciousness. I am going to focus the remainder of my prayer with thanksgiving and praise to You for a few of the many blessings of being a born-again believer in Jesus Christ.

It is a blessing to be in Your light instead of in Satan’s darkness; to be forgiven and not suffer from guilt. I am grateful to be out from under Satan’s power, and living in the experience of Your love. Colossians 1:13-14He has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son of His love, in whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins.

I praise You that all the spiritual events around Easter have provided a way for me to have entrance to the throne of grace. In that way, I can receive truth about everything in life, and that truth will set me free. Hebrews 4:16Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.

It is great to have in my mind the picture in Psalm 23 of You being my shepherd and taking care of me, the sheep. That truth brings me great comfort, peace, and joy in this chaotic world I am living in. Psalm 23:1 The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.

To You, God, be all glory, honor, and praise for what You have done and are doing. Amen.
