Helpful, comforting Heavenly Father, in Jesus’ powerful Name, thank you for seeing me and hearing my cries. Your Word, the Bible, tells me in Psalm 56:8, “You number my wanderings; put my tears into Your bottle; are they not in Your book?” It is a great comfort when I struggle with fear and anxiety in uncertain and difficult circumstances to know that You promise to always be with me.

Encourage me in difficult times to follow David’s example in verses 3-4. “Whenever I am afraid, I will trust in You. In God (I will praise His word), in God I have put my trust; I will not fear. What can flesh do to me?” I ask You to teach me the principles of trusting in You at all times and circumstances, not only in fear and anxiety or when the path is unclear. I accept your longing to give me, with love and wisdom, what You have written down in Your Word. Psalm 32:8I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will guide you with My eye.

Since I am living in such times of chaos and uncertainty, direct me to hold on to the truth in Deuteronomy 31:6 that God gave to Israel in their time of crisis. “Be strong and of good courage, do not fear nor be afraid of them; for the LORD your God, He is the one who goes with you. He will not leave you nor forsake you.” Resting in this promise in every part of life will allow me to step boldly into the unknown to face the challenges ahead that so many times cause me fear and anxiety.

Thank you for how You and Your Word calm anxious hearts and give peace that surpasses all understanding. John 14:27Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Prayer About Anxiousness Post-Pandemic, Lockdowns, and World Uncertainty (Based on Luke 12:22-34)

Compassionate Heavenly Father, I come to You in Jesus’ Name to thank You that as a believer in the Lord Jesus Christ, You invite me to bring my anxiety to You during this uncertain, post-COVID time.  During this time when we are still unsure of the long-term effects of COVID, vaccinations, and lockdowns, point me to Your Word to gain comfort and rest. Direct me to be an example to those who do not know the Lord Jesus Christ as their personal Savior

Thank you for this portion of Scripture as a beautiful reminder that I should not worry about tomorrow because You are working all things for good.  You want me not to become anxious when the problems of life surround me. Verse 25: “And which of you by worrying can add one cubit to his stature?”  Teach me to rest in You, knowing that verse 28 is truth. “If then God so clothes the grass, which today is in the field and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, how much more will He clothe you, O you of little faith?”

You tell me that I should not seek after the things of this world, but rather seek after You.  I ask You to give me the courage and direction to live in a manner that reflects this truth when anxiety threatens to overwhelm me.  I know that You want to provide for all my needs and show me how to correctly use Your provision.  Set my heart on seeking the kingdom of God above all else. Verse 31:But seek the kingdom of God, and all these things shall be added to you.”

In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
