God’s Invitation to All People on Earth (Based on John 3:16 and Jeremiah 33:3-8)

Loving Heavenly Father, in Jesus’ Name, thank you for the two most important and life-changing invitations You give to mankind. I have access to many emergency numbers in the physical realm, but none as powerful as the ones in the spiritual universe. Thank you for inviting and directing me to accept the most critical of all invitations, accepting Your Son Jesus Christ as my Savior, which allows me to have a home in Heaven. John 3:16 “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” (If you need help with this most critical decision, see the salvation tab on our site).

It is a blessing that after I accepted Your initial invitation of salvation, You have invited me, in many places in the Bible, to call on “emergency numbers” (Scriptures) for help while living here on earth. Jeremiah 33:3 “Call to Me and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know.” Just like You assured Jeremiah, direct me to rest in the fact that You are ready to answer my prayers when I ask for assistance. 

Thank you for the many Scripture promises I can call on for comfort and direction in life situations. The following are a few examples: 

  • When I am anxious and lacking peace: Philippians 4:6-7 “Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”
  • When I detect harassment from Satan: 1 John 4:4b “He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.”     
  • When it looks like there is no way through a situation: 2 Corinthians 12:9 “‘My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.’“

I ask, in Jesus’ Name, that day by day You lead me to a new awareness of who You are and who I am in Jesus Christ. Amen.

Prayer Calling on God in Times of Trouble (Based on Jeremiah 33:3)

Compassionate Heavenly Father, in Jesus’ Name I come to You to thank You that just like in Jeremiah’s day of problems, including being in prison, I can, in my troubles, do what You instructed him to do. Jeremiah 33:3 “Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know.” Remind me always in troubling situations to call on You for help.

Just like You assured Jeremiah that You will answer, You assure me that You will do the same for me if I will start by asking You for help. Direct me, when asking, to acknowledge that You alone are God and are unlimited in everything, that in my own strength nothing will be accomplished. It is amazing and a privilege that You, the Creator of the universe, want to hear from me and promise to answer me. It is a blessing to know that You, the all wise God, will show me great and mighty things, most of which I have probably not heard about.

In order for this verse to work for me, direct me to realize that it is incumbent on me to be obedient to whatever You show me needs to be done, even if sometimes it might not be pleasant. In addition, show me how to fully trust in Your sovereignty, and acknowledge that You have all the attributes to accomplish all that You want and that my own understanding is not needed. Proverbs 3:5-6 “Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.“

Thank you for all the benefits You want to and will provide for me simply by me calling unto You. Amen.
