Gracious Heavenly Father, I come in the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ to thank You for the promise in Hebrews 4:16. “Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy [I don’t get what I deserve] and find grace [I get what I don’t deserve] to help in time of need.” It is a blessing that You encourage me to come to the throne of grace just as I am, and not only if I am worthy or because of any right actions I may take. It is completely because of my born-again relationship with Your Son, Jesus Christ, who died on the cross for my sins.

Thank you that because of Your grace, there is nothing I have done or can do in the future that will affect Your wonderful love for me. In fact, Your love is beyond measure. Paul, under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, said in Romans 8:38-39 “For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Remind me often to share about the many things of grace You have given me. You want me to extend Your grace to others even If I think they do not deserve it. Thank you for Your many verses of Scripture in Your Word, the Bible, that tell about the functioning of Your grace. This teaching gives me enabling power to do and be what You want me to be, as well as forgiveness and the renewal of my mind. The greatest part of Your gift of grace is that it is always enough, even when at times it does not seem like it. As You told Paul in 2 Corinthians 12:9a about his problem, “‘My grace is sufficient for you.’” In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Prayer About Resting in God’s Mercy and Grace

Loving Heavenly Father, in Jesus’ Name, thank you for giving me mercy and grace. It is Your mercy that holds back what I deserve and Your grace that gives me what I don’t deserve. Hebrews 4:16Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.

It is such a great blessing in the morning to know that it is because of Your mercy that I am not consumed. You share that promise with me every day. Lamentations 3:23[The Lord’s] mercies are new every morning [thank you]; great is Your faithfulness [thank you].”

The Bible makes it clear that all of my Christian life comes from You through grace. Therefore, it is encouraging to know that You always have an abundant supply available. As Jesus told Paul in 2 Corinthians 12:9My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.

Direct me to exemplify Your love, mercy, and grace that I receive from You to others around me. Make it clear to them that they too can experience these attributes of Yours through a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Show them that they will never be able to get from other people what only You can give. Whenever I get my focus off of Your ways and experience anxiety and frustration from doing things my own way, remind me of Mathew 11:28. “Come to me all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

Thank you for Your peace. Amen.

Prayer About God’s Enabling Grace in Difficult Times

Heavenly Father, in Jesus’ Name, I thank You that as a believer in Jesus’ Christ, I can come to Your throne of grace. Direct me to approach You with the praise and honor You deserve for being my Savior, Good Shepherd, the Way and the Truth of Life, the Light of the World, and many other great attributes. Hebrews 4:16Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.

It is a great blessing to have the grace that You provide for me through the atoning death and resurrection of Your Son, Jesus. It is what enables me to depart from a life of sin and shame and step into a life of abundance and love with you. Like Paul in 2 Corinthians 12:9, teach me to recognize my limitations and turn to You for direction. This will also allow You to develop Christian character in me. Jesus said to Paul: “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.

Encourage me to have the same attitude Paul had in 2 Corinthians 12:9b. “Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.” Since You are not surprised with any situation in my life and are in control, direct me not to be surprised and try to be in control myself. Remind me to constantly live out of a place of gratitude and praise for Your loving, merciful, and great grace.

In Jesus’ Name, may You be honored with each day of my life. Amen.
