Heavenly Father, in Jesus’ Name, we come to You to thank You for intercessory prayer. We want to lift up to You the leaders of the world who are trying to solve this conflict. We ask for supernatural wisdom for the United States, Canada, Ukraine, European countries, the United Nations, and the NATO alliances. For all these leaders, we intercede with James 1:5a. “If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally.”  

For all those who are evil and under the control of Satan and are doing everything possible to make the situation even worse, we ask that You rebuke the evil one. 2 Corinthians 10:4 “The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds.” In the meantime, we ask that You provide what is expressed in Hebrews 4:16 for all the innocent people on both sides of the conflict. “Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.”

We come to You with this prayer because You are the only one who is all-powerful, all-wise, and everywhere present. Show us what we can be doing through prayer, giving, and encouragement to the missionaries and Christian organizations like Samaritan’s Purse who are trying to mitigate the suffering and pain. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

All-powerful and wise Heavenly Father, we come in Jesus’ Name to intercede on behalf of the Ukrainian and Russian people during this horrific conflict. Most of us have no idea of the severity of the physical and emotional suffering that is happening. We ask you to direct the Christians in these countries to do what you told Jeremiah to do in Jeremiah 33:3. “Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know.”

It has been reported that during and after the last war in 2014, when Russia annexed Crimea, many of these same people, especially Ukrainians, came to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ and have a strong faith in their new Christian walk. Being that some have lost loved ones, and many are injured, we ask that You will draw them close to what Jesus said in Mathew 11:28-30. “Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and my burden is light.”

Your Word, the Bible, tells us to pray for our enemies. In Mathew 5:44, Jesus said, “but I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you.” In light of this command, we lift up President Putin and all his military leaders, and ask You to release Your mighty hand of power against Satan’s control of them to stop this war against Your children. 1 John 4:4b “Because He who is in you is greater than He who is in the world.”

Thank you that intercessory prayer has no distance limitation, so at this time of feeling helpless, we can at least ask for Your power and wisdom to be directed to these people. We pray this prayer because we believe Matthew 19:26b. Jesus said that “with men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.” In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
