Lord, I come to You in Jesus’ Name to thank You for the protection You provide for Your children. With so much evil surrounding us on a daily basis, it is a blessing to hear what Jesus said in John 17:15. “I do not pray that You should take them out of the world, but that You should keep them from the evil one.” Many times You shield us from the attacks of Satan even when we don’t realize it. In 2 Thessalonians 3:3, Paul tells us what You do for us so that we do not have to live in fear. “But the Lord is faithful, who will establish you and guard you from the evil one.”

Thank You for giving instructions in Your Word (the Bible) of what You want Your children (believers in Jesus Christ) to do so that You can give the protection that we desire and need. In James 4:7-8a You tell us that with the power of the Holy Spirit living within the believer, we can resist evil and have it flee from us. “Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. Draw near to God and He will draw near to you.”

Teach me how to use Your Word for both defense and offense when the Evil One tries to distort my thinking and mislead me. I ask that You will continually develop in me the ability to use the armor of God, explained in Ephesians 6:10-20, to defend against evil and to stay true to You. Direct me to have Ephesians 6:10-11 be a daily part of my life. “Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.”

Thank You for allowing me to bring these requests in Jesus’ Name, Amen.
