Praiseworthy Heavenly Father, I come to bring You praise through the Name of Your Son. Thank you that I have the privilege to humbly bow before Your presence and proclaim that You are Lord over all. You reign high above all and no one compares to You.

You made me with the intent of having a worship experience with You through praise. You say in Your Word, the Bible, in Psalm 145:3, “great is the LORD, and greatly to be praised; and His greatness is unsearchable.

You want me to praise You for my spiritual development, not because You need my praise. Psalm 100:4Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, and into His courts with praise. Be thankful to Him and bless His name.

Thank you that if I get off the road of faith and onto the road of discouragement, focusing on praising You will help get me back on the right track.

It is a blessing that even in my hardest times and difficult situations, You encourage me to continue to spend time in praise centered on Your holy and perfect attributes. As hard as that may seem, it is a way that You refocus my heart and mind on Your love and goodness.

Direct me to always reflect on Romans 8:28 as one of the reasons to praise You because ultimately, “we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.

In Jesus Name, I ask You to direct me to have the strength to praise You in all circumstances so I can build a solid confidence in You like Paul expressed in Philippians 4:13. “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” Amen.

Jesus Christ’s Power Against Satan

All powerful Heavenly Father, in Jesus’ Name, thank you that as a believer in Jesus Christ I can quote Mathew 4:10 when tempted. Jesus said, “away with you Satan! For it is written, ‘You shall worship the LORD your God, and Him only you shall serve.‘”

The God of All Comfort

Comforting Heavenly Father, in Jesus’ Name, thank you for the promise in 2 Corinthians 1:3-4. “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any trouble, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.

Seeking and Knocking

Heavenly Father, in Jesus’ Name, direct me in my pursuing You as stated in Mathew 7:7-8. “‘Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened.

Alert to False Teaching

All wise Heavenly Father, in Jesus’ Name, I ask You to make me very sensitive to the teaching in Mathew 7:15-16a. “Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves. You will know them by their fruits.

The Dwelling Place of the Holy Spirit

Heavenly Father, in Jesus’ Name, thank you that as a believer in Christ the Holy Spirit lives within me. 1 Corinthians 3:16Do you not know that you are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you?

Two Greatest Gifts

Heavenly Father, in Jesus’ Name, thank you for these two precious gifts expressed in the Bible. Isaiah 9:6For unto us a Child is born, unto us a Son is given; and the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.” 1 Corinthians 15:3bChrist died for our sins according to the Scriptures.

Heavenly Father, I come before Your glorious throne today in Jesus’ Name to give You praise and thanks for the life You have offered me to live in a way encouraging to others. You have given me an opportunity to rid myself of my old, tattered, sinful ways and accept the perfection of Jesus Christ as my own.

It is not always easy to be an encouraging person, but thank you for Your instruction in the Bible in 1 Thessalonians 5:12-22. This scripture gives me a beautiful picture of what life should look like in the Christian community. Lead me into patience and encouragement for those who are weak and fainthearted.

Verse 14:Now we exhort you, brethren, warn those who are unruly, comfort the fainthearted, uphold the weak, be patient with all.” Give me a heart to not seek revenge, but rather to do good to others in love. Verse 15:See that no one renders evil for evil to anyone, but always pursue what is good both for yourselves and for all.

Your Word has a lot to say about the work of the Holy Spirit in a Christian’s life. Therefore, direct me to cooperate with Him in whatever He wants to accomplish in and through me. Zechariah 4:6b‘Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit.’Verse 19:Do not quench the Spirit.

Develop in me a sensitivity about how my life will affect those in my personal family as well as those in the Christian community. Direct me to fulfill the point raised in verse 22. “Abstain from the appearance of evil” (KJV).

In order to practice all that You have laid out in these verses, develop in me the attitude of verse 17, “pray without ceasing,” and verse 16, “rejoice always.

In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Gracious Heavenly Father, in Jesus’ Name, thank you for the great blessing of salvation which gives me a home in heaven eternally. In John 3:15 Jesus said “that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life.

It has been a huge blessing and complete change for me when You saved me and did for me what You promised Israel in the Old Testament in Ezekiel 36:27a. “I will put My Spirit within you.” The indwelling of the Spirit has allowed me to have the Holy Spirit as my helper, guide in all truth, and a source of love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, self control, wisdom, and power.

It is such a joy to see the effect that the power of Your Word has on my life. It has given me instruction on how to be saved and now, if I allow it, it will sanctify, instruct, and direct every phase of my life until I enter Heaven’s doors. Psalm 119:105Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.

Thank You that as a child of Yours, I can come to the place where all answers can be found. Hebrews 4:16Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and grace to help in time of need.” Direct me to continually incorporate Your Word in all situations and rely on it for all power.

I give thanks and praise for all Your attributes expressed in the Bible. I am specifically grateful for the following characteristics described by Your Names: the Lord my provider, the Lord my healer, the Lord my banner, the Lord my shepherd, the Lord my peace, the Lord my righteousness, and the Lord my sanctifier.

In Jesus’ Name, and from the bottom of my heart, thank you for who You are and for what You do for me. Amen.

Heavenly Father, in Jesus’ Name I come to thank You that in 1776 You put it on the hearts and minds of 56 men from 13 colonies to sign the Declaration of Independence for our freedom. We have been able to celebrate this event ever since that day. History tells us that many of these men were believers in You. I ask that You forgive us as a nation and as individuals for ignoring or just forgetting about all of the blood shed for our freedom.
It is because You have blessed us as a nation (Psalm 33:12aBlessed is the nation whose God is the LORD.“) that I have the privilege of experiencing the greatest liberty of all.
That liberty is the blessing of being able to be free from sin and eternal death in hell. You provided this for me through Jesus Christ. John 8:36 “Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed.
In spite of all the chaos, ungodly activity, and false teaching about our godly heritage, I ask that You draw the next generation to Yourself through a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.  This will help them defend and keep freedom for their future.
Before I start celebrating the 4th with good food, family, friends, and all kinds of entertainment and fireworks, remind me to stop and think about what I am actually celebrating: living in a free nation and being able to worship You as my Creator, Savior, and Lord.
In Jesus’ Name, direct me to follow the admonition in Galatians 5:1Stand fast therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free, and do not be entangled again with a yoke of bondage.” Amen.
