All wise and loving Heavenly Father, I come to You in Jesus’ Name. This last year, with all the chaos, heartache, and pain in the world, it seems like everything is out of control. However, I thank You for the promise, peace, and comfort You express in Psalm 103:19 that this is not the case at all. “The LORD has established His throne in heaven, and His kingdom rules over all.“
During the past, You have brought revivals in America and throughout the world. I ask like the writer in Psalm 85:6-7 did, “will You not revive us again, that Your people may rejoice in You? Show us Your mercy, Lord, and grant us Your salvation.” May that revival start with me. Direct me to exchange my weaknesses with Your strength and my doubts with Your righteousness and courage. Thank you that You are never too tired or busy to listen and help, and that Your wisdom and power never diminish.
Encourage me to listen to You speak through Your Word and Spirit and be patient when You ask me to wait for Your perfect timing and help. May I rest in Your promise in Isaiah 40:31. “But those who wait on the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint.“
Since we are entering 2021 with so many unknowns, show me how to stay positive and be a shining light to those around me. May I experience Proverbs 3:5-6 more than ever. “Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.“
In Jesus’ comforting name, amen.
