Loving Heavenly Father, I come in Jesus’ Name to acknowledge before You that love is central to who You are. In fact, 1 John 4:8 says that “He who does not love does not know God, for God is love.” You have shown love to humanity many times throughout history, and to me in my own life. Thank you for the following ways You have revealed Your love to me: (list your own experiences here).

I praise and thank You for the way You love me unconditionally. When I chose to accept Jesus Christ as my personal Savior and to follow Him, I became Your child, assuring me of an eternal home in Heaven. John 1:12 But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name.” As Your child, what Paul wrote in Romans 8:38-39 is true for me as well. “For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

This Valentine’s Day, remind me not only of Your love for me, but also that it is designed to be extended to others. All of my actions should be “rooted and grounded in love,” as Ephesians 3:17b says. Direct me to follow Your command in 1 John 4:11Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another.

Thank you for Your perfect love. To You be all honor, glory, and praise. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
