Heavenly Father, I come to You in Jesus’ Name to thank You for being my Shepherd, and for all that entails in my relationship with You. Psalm 23:1The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.

Forgive me for the times when I struggle with being content and find myself wanting more than You have seen fit to give me at that time. You have promised to provide all that I need for a life of godliness, praise, and worship towards You. Philippians 4:13 I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” Direct me to be content with You alone, and not be tempted to look for contentment in the things of this world, which lose their worth in the face of eternity.

Give me a good understanding of the teaching in Your Word that my happiness is not based on my circumstances in life. Rather, real contentment and joy comes from knowing Jesus more and more. Like the Apostle Paul, show me how to be accepting of where I am at in my life. Philippians 4:11Not that I speak in regard to need, for I have learned in whatever state I am, to be content.

Shift my focus from the things of this world to Jesus, Your ultimate Gift, realizing that all true contentment comes from Him. Philippians 4:19And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.” I bring these thoughts in Jesus’ Name, Amen.
