All powerful Heavenly Father, I come in the Name of Your Son, the Lord Jesus Christ, to thank You for the promise in 1 John 4:4b. “He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.” It is very difficult to know just how to pray about this horrific war going on. I ask the Holy Spirit to take this prayer and present it to You in the correct form. Romans 8:26 Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.

Please put Your hand of protection upon all of the hundreds of humanitarian workers who are in danger as they aid thousands of refugees. Give the many who are sharing the Gospel the courage to continue doing that, as well as needed protection. Direct all the believers in Jesus Christ to gain strength and comfort from Isaiah 41:10 and Psalm 46:1. “Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, yes, I help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.” “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.

I ask this same prayer for the thousands of Christians in Russia who are against the actions of this war and are concerned about civil war breaking out there. Many are having to hide from their own government amidst fear of what might happen to them. It is my desire for You to take full control of the government leaders in both countries and direct them to bring an end to the war. Thank you for inviting all of us to come to You for help in times of trouble. Amen.

2022 Easter Prayer: The Power of the Resurrection

All powerful Heavenly Father, in Jesus’ Name, I thank You for Easter, one of the most miraculous and powerful events in the world, as recorded in Mathew 28:5-7. “But the angel answered and said to the women, “Do not be afraid, for I know that you seek Jesus who was crucified. He is not here; for He is risen, as He said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay. And go quickly and tell His disciples that He is risen from the dead.”

Thank you that when I accepted Jesus Christ as my personal Savior, You considered my sins to have died with Him, and I am no longer condemned. My salvation experience allowed me to become one with Him and have access to all that He is and can provide. I praise You for what is expressed in Galatians 2:20, that not only did I die to self through Christ, but that I was also raised with Him to now be able to live a Christian life. “I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.” It is an awesome gift You have given me through the Holy Spirit to now have the same resurrection power that raised Jesus from the dead dwelling within me as I live my daily life. Direct me to be developing this relationship with You by reading Your Word and spending quiet time communicating with You in prayer.

Revelation 5:12b “‘Worthy is the lamb who was slain to receive power and riches and wisdom, and strength and honor and glory and blessing!'” Amen.

P.S. Since Good Friday, Easter, and the resurrection are all about Jesus, if these events are not personal and real to you, we encourage you to go to the Salvation Tab on our blog and follow the steps to become a child of God through salvation.

2022 Good Friday Prayer About the Cross (Based on John 19:17-18)

Author: Elton Streyle, Contributor: Noah, Photography and Editing: Ali

Heavenly Father, in Jesus’ Name, thank you for what Good Friday stands for: Jesus’ horrific death on the cross for my sins, and all the sins of the world. John 19:17-18And He, bearing His cross, went out to a place called the Place of a Skull, which is called in Hebrew, Golgotha, where they crucified Him, and two others with Him, one on either side, and Jesus in the center.” Forgive me for the times I would rather skip reading and meditating on that horrible day of suffering in Jesus’ life and read about the glorious day of Easter instead.

Good Friday is very critical in the whole Easter story. Without it, there would be no Easter. Direct me to understand the full meaning of what happened on both those days. 1 Corinthians 15:4And that He was buried, and He rose again on the third day according to the Scriptures.” It is a blessing that as much as our culture hates to hear about the cross and Jesus’ blood and what it stands for, it is still the only way of cleansing all the sin in this decadent world. Your Word (the Bible) makes it clear that it is the blood of the lamb (Jesus) that cleanses me from all sin. Thank you for the beautiful song, The Old Rugged Cross, that summarizes all that happened on Good Friday.

On a hill far away stood an old rugged cross, the emblem of suffering and shame; and I love that old cross where the dearest and best, for a world of lost sinners was slain. In the old rugged cross, stained with blood so divine, a wonderous beauty I see; for it ’twas on that old cross Jesus suffered and died, to pardon and sanctify me.”

Thank you for the glory of next week, Easter and the Resurrection. Amen.

Prayer About the Blessing of Being a Child of the All-Knowing God (Based on Psalm 139:1-14)

All knowing Heavenly Father, I come before You through the Name of Your Son Jesus Christ to bring You praise and thanksgiving for Your ways of perfection and Your flawless plans. I stand in awe of You, that there is no knowledge or wisdom apart from You. You are the source of all knowledge and the center of all understanding. Thank you for the blessing of allowing me to know You on a personal level and for You knowing everything about me. Verses 1-2:O LORD, You have searched me and known me. You know my sitting down and my rising up; You understand my thought afar off.” It is awesome that You know me so well that You even know my thoughts and my words before they come out of my mouth.

As a person I look at the outward appearance, but You as God look at the inward parts of my mind and heart. Verse 4:For there is not a word on my tongue, but behold, O LORD, You know it altogether.” Thank you for making it clear in Your Word (the Bible) that I didn’t just happen at birth. You had detailed plans for me way before I was born. Verses 13 and 16a:For You formed my inward parts; You covered me in my mother’s womb…. Your eyes saw my substance, being yet unformed.

It is a great blessing that Your love for me transcends the bounds of time and space. What a privilege it is as a believer in Jesus Christ to be enveloped by Your love, not by the merits of what I have done, but what Christ has done on my behalf.

Thank you for this beautiful, comforting Scripture You have provided. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

The Blessing of Listening to and Obeying God’s Word

Author: Elton Streyle, Contributor: Noah, Photography and Editing: Ali

Heavenly Father, I come in Jesus’ Name to thank and praise You for the blessing, encouragement, direction, and power of Your Word (the Bible). It is a blessing that I have unlimited access and am able to read and hear from You through Your Word about the truth of Your Word for believers and unbelievers. As a believer in Jesus Christ, You promise to go before me in whatever situations I face. Psalm 119:105Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.” It is like walking in the dark woods with a light shining in front of me to show me the way and point out any dangers ahead.

Since all Scripture comes directly from You, direct me to diligently study all of Your Word and apply what I learn in my daily life. James 1:22But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves.” Thank you for the work and power of Your Word in my life at the time of my salvation and that I have been born again. It is the Word of God being planted in me when I came to saving faith in Christ that gives me a new life now and for eternity.

Your Word is always used for the positive, and the Holy Spirit will continue to use it to develop me spiritually until I enter Heaven’s gates. 1 Peter 1:23 Having been born again, not of corruptible seed but incorruptible, through the word of God which lives and abides forever.” It is the ultimate blessing to read and listen to Your Word and act accordingly because all good things flow from You, and You have revealed Yourself through Your Word. Thank you for the instructions You provide in the Bible on how to live the Christian life.

I ask for those around the world who do not have the privilege of having a Bible, that You work in miraculous ways to provide them access to a Bible in their native language so that they may know You. Amen.

An Urgent Message and Prayer for Loved Ones and Friends Who Need a Personal, Saving Relationship with Jesus Christ

Photo taken in Yellowstone National Park.

Author: Elton Streyle, Contributor: Noah, Photography and Editing: Ali

After listening to a number of pastors like Dr. David Jeremiah preaching about the end times and seeing what is happening in the world, it looks like the time is very near. We have posted this prayer because there is an urgency to reach as many loved ones and friends as soon as possible with the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ. They need to be ready for what is coming. 2 Timothy 3:1 “But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come.”

Heavenly Father, I come to You in Jesus’ Name to bring to You the names of the following people who are lost and need to invite Jesus Christ into their lives for salvation and eternity in Heaven: [insert names here]. In the powerful Name of Jesus, I ask that You tear down the works of Satan for the people on this list. Show them the destructiveness of false doctrine, unbelief, atheistic teaching, hatred, apathy, the love of the world, lust of the flesh, etc. 2 Corinthians 10:4-5For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ.

I desire that You make clear to each person the true meaning of John 3:16. “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” There is no other way to go to Heaven for eternity. I ask that You direct me to share the Gospel with them, or that You send a messenger who is a good witness for Jesus Christ – a person who can help them understand the process of salvation and how to become a child of God.

Jesus, thank you for giving Your life on the cross for salvation to all mankind and providing the joy of the Lord to all who accept and believe in You as their Savior. Amen.

Intercessory Prayer for World Leaders During the Ukraine and Russia War

Author: Elton Streyle, Contributor: Noah, Editing: Ali

Heavenly Father, in Jesus’ Name, we come to You to thank You for intercessory prayer. We want to lift up to You the leaders of the world who are trying to solve this conflict. We ask for supernatural wisdom for the United States, Canada, Ukraine, European countries, the United Nations, and the NATO alliances. For all these leaders, we intercede with James 1:5a. “If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally.”

For all those who are evil and under the control of Satan and are doing everything possible to make the situation even worse, we ask that You rebuke the evil one. 2 Corinthians 10:4 The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds.” In the meantime, we ask that You provide what is expressed in Hebrews 4:16 for all the innocent people on both sides of the conflict. “Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.

We come to You with this prayer because You are the only one who is all-powerful, all-wise, and everywhere present. Show us what we can be doing through prayer, giving, and encouragement to the missionaries and Christian organizations like Samaritan’s Purse who are trying to mitigate the suffering and pain. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Intercessory Prayer for the Ukrainian and Russian People

All-powerful and wise Heavenly Father, we come in Jesus’ Name to intercede on behalf of the Ukrainian and Russian people during this horrific conflict. Most of us have no idea of the severity of the physical and emotional suffering that is happening. We ask you to direct the Christians in these countries to do what you told Jeremiah to do in Jeremiah 33:3. “Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know.

It has been reported that during and after the last war in 2014, when Russia annexed Crimea, many of these same people, especially Ukrainians, came to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ and have a strong faith in their new Christian walk. Being that some have lost loved ones, and many are injured, we ask that You will draw them close to what Jesus said in Mathew 11:28-30. “Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and my burden is light.

Your Word, the Bible, tells us to pray for our enemies. In Mathew 5:44, Jesus said, “but I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you.” In light of this command, we lift up President Putin and all his military leaders, and ask You to release Your mighty hand of power against Satan’s control of them to stop this war against Your children. 1 John 4:4bBecause He who is in you is greater than He who is in the world.

Thank you that intercessory prayer has no distance limitation, so at this time of feeling helpless, we can at least ask for Your power and wisdom to be directed to these people. We pray this prayer because we believe Matthew 19:26b. Jesus said that “with men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.” In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Prayer About Abiding in Jesus Christ (Based on John 15:1-17)

Photo taken in Kansas.

Author: Elton Streyle, Contributor: Noah, Photography and Editing: Ali

Heavenly Father, I come to You through the Name of Jesus Christ to thank You for the comfort of knowing that Your presence is ever with me, and for allowing me to constantly abide in You. This concept is very well illustrated in John 15:5. Jesus said, “I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing.” I acknowledge that without this close vine and branch relationship with You, I can do nothing good, right, or pure. I ask that You forgive me when I forget this truth and try to trust in myself rather than in Your perfect love.

Make clear in my mind and heart that not abiding in You is very detrimental to living a righteous life. John 15:6If anyone does not abide in Me, he is cast out as a branch and is withered; and they gather them and throw them into the fire, and they are burned.” Thank you for sharing in Your Word (the Bible) that if I, as a believer in Jesus Christ, follow Your commandments, I can abide in Your love. John 15:10If you keep My commandments, you will abide in My love, just as I have kept My Father’s commandments and abide in His love.

I ask You to direct and give me wisdom and strength to practice Your commandments on a daily basis with love, joy, and thankfulness. Thank you for my relationship with You, which began with You taking the first step of love that I never could, by sending Your Son to die on the cross for my sin. Develop Your great love in me in such a way that I can reflect that love back to You and to those around me. John 15:12This is My commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you.

In summary, I express to You the words in Psalm 119:73. “Your hands have made me and fashioned me; give me understanding, that I may learn Your commandments.” In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
