All-powerful Heavenly Father, I come to You today to give You praise and magnify Your mighty power. Thank you for being my refuge and my fortress. It is in You that I can have peace and protection from danger. Verse 2:I will say of the LORD, “He is my refuge and my fortress; my God, in Him will I trust.’” It is a great blessing that I have no reason to fear the evil that is around me, because not one scheme of Satan can touch me when I dwell with You. Verse 1: He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.

It is significant to know that not only can I dwell in Your shadow, but that Your Word (in the Bible) also promises: “He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world” (1 John 4:4b.) Since You are the only true refuge in this world for my life, direct me to depend on You alone and not look to the world for comfort. Teach me more each day how to live in the shadow of Your mercy and grace so that I can experience what You promise in verse 15 any time I am near danger. “He shall call upon Me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him and honor him.” Thank you that You have a great desire to teach me how to live righteously so that You can shower blessings on me. Amen.

Prayer About God, Our Only True Source of Protection

Unlimited, all powerful Heavenly Father, I come to You in the Name of my Savior Jesus Christ. I give You everything I have and am so that I may bring honor to You. I thank and praise You for the protection I find in You like in no other place. You know me and want what is best for me in all situations, even the ones I don’t understand. Nahum 1:7The LORD is good, a stronghold in the day of trouble; and He knows those who trust in Him.

It is a great comfort and blessing to be able to do like David did when in trouble and know that You are right there with me. Psalm 34:6-7This poor man cried out, and the LORD heard him, and saved him out of all his troubles. The angel of the LORD encamps all around those who fear Him, and delivers them.

What a relief and joy it is to know, as a believer in Jesus Christ, that You promise to protect me from the evil one. I can feel safe in Your arms. You express this so eloquently in 2 Thessalonians 3:3 and Isaiah 41:10. “But the Lord is faithful, who will establish you and guard you from the evil one.” “Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.

As I live in this chaotic world and very uncertain time, I want to thank You for Your life-giving protection and love that is mine through the sacrifice of Jesus on the cross. Direct me to keep my eyes and heart focused daily on Your Word and You, and less on all the negativity in the world.

To Your honor and glory. Amen.

God’s 3 Steps for Encouragement from Him

Encouraging Heavenly Father, I come in the Name of Jesus to give You praise and thanks for the encouragement that comes through trusting in You. When all looks bleak and things are far from what I had expected or wanted, Your loving presence fills me with hope.

When I am in need of encouragement, direct me to do like David did in 1 Samuel 30:6. “Now David was greatly distressed, for the people spoke of stoning him, because the soul of all the people was grieved, every man for his sons and his daughters. But David strengthened himself in the LORD his God.

First step: Remind me to look back at all the past victories over sin and darkness that have been accomplished in Jesus’ Name. There have been many events recorded in the Bible and in more current history where You stepped in and redeemed even the worst situations. This is true in my own personal life as well. John 16:33These things have I spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.

Second step: Remind me that I am under Your divine protection. You can command Your angels to provide protection from the forces of evil. Psalm 121:7-8The LORD shall preserve you from all evil; He shall preserve your soul. The LORD shall preserve your going out and your coming in from this time forth, and even forevermore.

Third step: Remind me as a child of Yours of the many powerful attributes You as my loving father have in directing and watching over me. 1 Chronicles 29:11Yours O LORD, is the greatness, the power and the glory, the victory and the majesty; for all that is in heaven and in earth is Yours; Yours is the kingdom, O LORD, and You are exalted as head over all.

I ask that I would continually see You more clearly and be in pursuit of developing my relationship with You until I ultimately see Jesus face to face. Amen.
