Just Heavenly Father, I come to You in Jesus’ Name to thank You for Your unlimited ability and willingness to guide me to overcome the pain from hurt and offenses. In Your Word, You tell me to give these feelings to You. Psalm 55:22 says “cast your burden on the LORD, and He shall sustain you; He shall never permit the righteous to be moved.”
I can rest assured that no evil or damaging act against me will ever go unnoticed or unpunished. Your wisdom and justice are far more effective than anything I can do. In fact, I ask that You direct me to accept that personal revenge is foolish when viewed in light of Your wisdom and awesome power. Thank you for the peace I can have by doing what You suggest in Romans 12:19. “Beloved, do not avenge yourselves, but rather give place to wrath; for it is written, “Vengeance is Mine, I will repay,” says the Lord.“‘
In the meantime, since You have said that You will provide justice for all that are opposed to me, teach me to love my enemies and not wish any harm upon them. Show me how to love as You love, leaving revenge and retribution to You. As hard as it may be, will You direct me to have Luke 6:27-28 be a reality in my life. Jesus said, “but I say to you who hear: love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, and pray for those who spitefully use you.”
Thank you that I can bring these concerns to You in Jesus’ Name, Amen.
