All wise and compassionate Heavenly Father, thank you for the many Bible verses that instruct on how to handle the very strong emotion of anger. As the old saying goes, “anger is only one letter away from danger.” I appreciate that You make it clear in Your Word that there is only one kind of anger that is acceptable; that is anger against the evil one and His ways. All other anger should be taken care of immediately. Ephesians 4:26-27 “‘Be angry, and do not sin,”: do not let the sun go down on your wrath, nor give place to the devil.”
Thank you for avenging suffering and righting every wrong. You will fully vindicate when the time of judgement comes. I accept that You are the administrator of justice and willingly leave all retribution in Your hands. Psalm 7:10-11 “My defense is of God, who saves the upright in heart. God is a just judge, and God is angry with the wicked every day.”
In the quest to subdue personal anger, I ask You to direct me to never become apathetic to areas in which I can miss the mark. Since Satan tries to use many different ways to instigate anger, give me the wisdom and the power to do what is expressed in Colossians 3:8-9. “But now you yourselves are to put off all these: anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy language out of your mouth. Do not lie to one another, since you have put off the old man with his deeds.”
Thank you for all Your counsel, in the eternal, precious Name of Jesus, Amen.
