Heavenly Father, I come to You in Jesus’ Name this Thanksgiving to thank You for giving us Your Son and allowing Him to die on the cross for our sins. You resurrected Him from death and left Your Spirit with us until all You have planned for here on earth is done.

It is a blessing beyond description to be a child of Yours and have the Holy Spirit dwelling within me. If I allow it, You will direct all phases of my life. As I live in this chaotic world and deal with many personal problems, I thank You for the invitation expressed in Mathew 11:28-29. “Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.

Prayer Exercise of Gratitude for the Next Seven Days

Meditate and give thanks each day on the following topics:

Friday: Thank you for giving me salvation and a future home in Heaven. John 3:15 That whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life.

Saturday: Thank you for the blessing of forgiveness. 1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

Sunday: Thank you for caring for my physical body and emotional health. Philippians 4:19And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.

Monday: Thank you for the wonder and beauty of Your creation. Psalm 19:1 The heavens declare the glory of God and the firmament shows His handiwork.

Tuesday: Thank you for the freedom we enjoy in our nation and for the protection we receive from our military and our first responders. 2 Thessalonians 3:3 But the Lord is faithful, who will establish you and guard you from the evil one.

Wednesday: Thank you for the joy and love provided by my personal and church family. Hebrews 10:24 And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works.

Thursday: Thank you for the blessing, power, and promises of Your Word, all of which enriches my life. Psalm 119:105 Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.

Friday: Remember all that God has brought to your mind to be thankful for. Psalm 92:1It is good to give thanks to the LORD, and to sing praises to Your name, O Most High.

Lord, in Jesus’ Name, guide me to be a thankful person every day as a lifestyle, not only on Thanksgiving Day. Amen.
