All powerful Heavenly Father, in Jesus’ Name, thank you that like the disciples, in the midst of my life’s storms I have the privilege of calling on Jesus for help. Verse 25: “Then His disciples came to Him and awoke Him, saying, “Lord, save us! We are perishing!’“
Although I as a born-again believer in Jesus Christ have seen and read many times about the miraculous works of Jesus when a storm comes, I still have difficulty resting in all of Your attributes at times. You are the creator of everything, all powerful, all knowing, ever-present, unchanging, merciful, and gracious.
Direct me to understand and accept that Jesus has the authority and power to control the storms of life as well as the storms of nature. With Him all things are possible. Verse 26: “But He said to them, “Why are you fearful, O you of little faith?” Then He arose and rebuked the winds and the sea, and there was a great calm.“
It is a blessing that I can experience the wonder and amazement the disciples had about the divine power of Jesus, how unlike other men He is and how much He cares for people. He even died on the cross so that people have the opportunity to accept Him and prepare for eternity in heaven. Verse 27: “So the men marveled, saying, “Who can this be, that even the winds and the sea obey Him?’“
Encourage me to remember this awesome true story in Your Word (the Bible) the next time I am in a difficult situation. Thank you for the power and encouragement in Your Word. To God be the glory. Amen.
Thank you. God’s peace be with you.
