In our Christian walk with God, in addition to prayer and Bible study, it is important to have Scripture in our mind, ready to use in any situation that may arise. For this reason, we have added a new tab on our blog called Memorizing Scripture. We invite you to look at the information we have put together and use it in any way that would be helpful for you. Loved by God

Loving and faithful Father, I thank you that every day I can rest on Your promise that You are never changing, always faithful, and loving. Despite my failures and shortcomings, Your love never wavers, falters or comes up short.
Your assurance that You will never leave or forsake me brings great peace and joy in my life. “If we are faithless, He remains faithful; He cannot deny Himself” 2 Timothy 2:13.
Lead me to comprehend and take seriously what it cost You for me to be able to have a wonderful love relationship with You. “But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in while we were still sinners, Christ died for us” Romans 5:8.
Direct me not to use Your grace and mercy as a means to simply do as I wish or as an excuse to sin. Rather, show me how to use it as a platform from which to extend Your hand to others. Teach me to trust in the same promise You gave Israel in Isaiah 43:2-3 when I go through difficult times. “When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; And through the rivers, they shall not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned, nor shall the flame scorch you. For I am the LORD your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Savior…”
May my experiences and actions be an example for others to see how You demonstrate Your love and faithfulness.
I bring these thoughts in Jesus’ Name, Amen.
Father’s Day Prayer and Tribute
Lord almighty, I come to You through the Name of Your Son Jesus to praise You for the gift of our earthly fathers. Thank you for the leadership, courage and protection that our fathers provide and for the opportunity we have to honor them and appreciate all the work they have put into our lives. I praise You that there are fathers all across the country leading their families according to the Word of God. Thank you for enabling these men to live a life honoring to You.
I realize that although Your creation of fathers was perfect in nature, sin has entered and corrupted that perfection. Because of this corruption, many have been left with long-lasting scars and pains from their earthly fathers. Direct those who have had an unpleasant relationship with their father or never knew him, for their own peace, to forgive him and cast all their past hurts onto Jesus. “Casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you” 1 Peter 5:7. For the fathers who have been hurt, I ask that You draw them to Yourself and restore their relationships with their children.
Thank you that no matter how much our earthly fathers have failed us, You will never fail us. Your Word tells us in Psalm 27:10 that “when my father and mother forsake me, then the LORD, will take care of me.” You will always be there, arms wide open, ready to receive, and that is a promise no one can take away. I ask that You would teach fathers and future fathers to rely on You for wisdom and strength to lead and instruct their families. Show them how to model their lives and shape their influence to better reflect the example You have given in Your Word.
It is in the perfect Name of Jesus that we pray, Amen.
God’s Sufficiency for the Christian

Gracious Heavenly Father, I come to You in Jesus’ Name with praise and thanksgiving for the promise in Your Word that You will meet my every need, but not necessarily all of my wants. I can rest assured that there is no area of my life where You cannot provide. Thank you that You alone will sustain me. “And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus” Philippians 4:19.
When I am burdened down with a heavy load of the cares of this world and am feeling tired, You say: “Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest” Mathew 11:28. In times when I feel lonely or discouraged, You assure me in Hebrews 13:5b that You will always be there for me. ‘”I will never leave you nor forsake you.'”
When I am weak, Your Word tells me in Isaiah 40:29 “He gives power to the weak, and to those who have no might He increases strength.” Show me how to be content with Your love and what You provide and not worry about what I do not have.
Teach me to be sensitive to and serve the needs of others around me so that I can receive the blessing and joy You provide to a cheerful giver. May the witness of my life be one that exemplifies the message expressed in 2 Corinthians 3:5. “Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think of anything as being from ourselves, but our sufficiency is from God.”
Thank you that I can bring this prayer in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Memorial Day Prayer: Honoring Those Who Have Passed On

Compassionate, all-knowing Heavenly Father, I come to You in the Name of Jesus today to thank you for the memories You have given me of loved ones and friends who have passed on. I appreciate how You have spoken to me through their example and actions while they were living. “The memory of the righteous is blessed…” Proverbs 10:7
I especially want to thank You for the men and women in the military as well as those in other organizations who have given their lives fighting for the freedom of our country. What an amazing love they show for those around them, for in John 15:13 it says, “greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends.”
Most of all, I thank You for the greatest sacrifice of all, found in John 3:16 about Jesus dying on the cross and making a way for all who desire salvation. “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.”
Bless the men, women, and their families who are serving our country to defend our freedom. I ask that You would give healing and comfort to the families and loved ones who are recovering from the devastations of war and terror.
Thank you for sending Your Son to die so that all who choose a relationship with You can ultimately inherit Heaven and can now experience the reality of Galatians 2:20 “I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.”
Thank you that I can bring these thoughts in Jesus’ Name, Amen.
