Loving Heavenly Father, I come to You in Jesus’ Name as I see everything happening around me to thank You that Your love for me is unconditional and that nothing in all creation can separate me from Your love, revealed in Christ Jesus my Lord. “For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.Romans 8:38-39

It is such a blessing to know that the stronger my love relationship is with You, the easier it is for me to have a joyful love relationship with others.

Your Word expresses that obedience to Your instruction, as well as worship and praise, are ways for me to grow in my love relationship with You. “My soul follows close behind You; Your right hand upholds me.Psalm 63:8

Please develop in me a strong desire for sincere praise and worship, along with a willingness to be obedient to the instructions in Your Word.

I ask that Your love be greatly evident in my life in everything I say and do and that it will overflow from me to others and encourage them to want a relationship with Jesus as their Savior, for 1 John 4:8 says, “He who does not love does not know God, for God is love.

Thank you that Your great love does not have to be earned, but is a gift to be received.

With all my love, I bring these praises and requests to You in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

All-wise Heavenly Father, I come in Jesus’ Name to thank you for the encouragement You give in Your Word for when I forget or ignore that You know the future and my every move. You have designed all situations to prosper me even before they happen. “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD, thoughts of peace and not evil, to give you a future and a hopeJeremiah 29:11.

Forgive me for sometimes being utterly foolish by not giving control to You, the life-giver and master of every destiny, and for not looking to You for sustenance and guidance.

I ask You to take control of my life, the lives of my immediate family, and the lives of those who come to mind who are my brothers and sisters in Christ.

I pray Paul’s prayer in Colossians 1:9-12 for all of the people just mentioned. “For this reason we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to ask that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding; that you may walk worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing Him, being fruitful in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God; strengthened with all might, according to His glorious power, for all patience and longsuffering with joy; giving thanks to the Father who has qualified us to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in the light.”

Thank you that I can come to You in Jesus’ Name to ask You to take hold of every facet of my life and transform me to be more Christ-like. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

All-powerful Heavenly Father, I come to You in Your Son’s Name to thank you for Your promise that I don’t ever have to live alone in the flesh but that You will give me strength in the Spirit if I will solely trust in You. Your Word tells me, “if we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the SpiritGalatians 5:25.

Although I live in this world of strife, dissension, and chaos which works hard to take away my joy and peace, You have provided an answer for perfect peace in Isaiah 26:3. “You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You.”

It is encouraging to be able to trust in the truth that You bring out in Jeremiah 32:17 that You are not limited the way we, Your children, are. “Ah, Lord GOD! Behold, You have made the heavens and the earth by Your great power and outstretched arm. There is nothing too hard for You.

Father, I humbly come before You, recognizing that in my own strength I have and am nothing, but because of You living within me through the Holy Spirit, You are proud of me and want to make something of my life. I ask You to direct my life in such a way that it will be said of me like it was of Hezekiah: “And he did what was right in the sight of the LORD…2 Chronicles 29:2.

Thank you that I can bring these thoughts in Jesus’ Name, Amen

Heavenly Father, I come in Jesus’ Name to thank You for the privilege of being able to look back in my life and see Your faithfulness in the good and difficult times. “Through the LORD’s mercies we are not consumed, because His compassions fail not. They are new every morning; great is Your faithfulnessLamentations 3:22-23.

Direct me to recall Your goodness and work in all seasons of my life. Develop in me the mental attitude that “God certainly would not bring me this far in life and now all of a sudden drop me and not be interested in my future anymore.”

Thank you for the assurance about my future found in Psalm 23:6. “Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life; and I will dwell in the house of the LORD Forever.

Give me the courage and strength to realize that when the challenges and setbacks in life come, You will guide and lead me all the way through to the other side.

Since my responsibility is to call upon You and then trust and yield to Your leading, I ask that you direct my life to be exemplary of Proverbs 3:5-6. “Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.”

Thank you for allowing me to bring this prayer in Jesus’ precious Name, Amen.

Christmas Prayer

IMG_6787Author: Elton Streyle, Contributor: Noah, Photography and Editing: Ali

Lord, we come into Your presence today through the name of Your ultimate gift to us, Jesus. We are a world in need of a Savior, and You sent Jesus to redeem us from our sins. “For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the LordLuke 2:11.

In Your love for us You gave Your only begotten Son, and today we stop and celebrate that gift and thank You for Him. You prophesied in Your Word (the Bible) that You would send Your son to die so that we could accept Him to be delivered from sin and live with You for eternity.

Thank you for recording all these events in Your Word, the Bible, and for announcing Jesus’ birth through the music of praise and thanksgiving sung by the Angels. The many Christmas songs that have been composed throughout the years and are still sung today are one of the many blessings we have for celebrating Jesus’ birth.

Luke 2:13-14 tells us, “and suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of heavenly host praising God and saying: “Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, goodwill toward men!“‘

We are forever grateful that You sent Your Son to enrich the world, turn darkness to light and despair into delight. Because of that, we can relate to that blessed Christmas chorus, “O come let us adore Him, Christ the Lord.” Thank you that we can bring this prayer in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

God’s Faithfulness to His Word

Heavenly Father, I come to You in Jesus’ Name to thank you for being faithful in all the promises that You express to me in Your Word, and for never abandoning me or breaking any of Your promises. “As for God, His way is perfect; the word of the LORD is tested; He is a shield to all who trust in Him.Psalm 18:30

Forgive me for the times I have had the tendency to go back to being self-reliant instead of fully trusting in You. Remind me that when I am facing any temptation or crisis in my life I can rely on Your Word. “No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it.1 Corinthians 10:13

I ask You to enable me to see and understand the big picture You have laid out in Your Scriptures about Your faithfulness. Guide me to have complete confidence and rest in Your Word so that I can trust You with everything in my life and experience the peace of God that passes all understanding. “Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God.” Philippians 4:6

My God, I thank You that I can come to You in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Trusting God in Difficult Times: A Prayer Based on Psalm 86

Author: Elton Streyle, Contributor: Noah, Photography and Editing: Ali

Heavenly Father, I come in Jesus’ Name to thank you for being my refuge in times of trouble and for lifting me up when I am discouraged. “The LORD also will be a refuge for the oppressed, a refuge in times of troublePsalm 9:9.

It is a privilege to know that no matter what situation I may be in, I can trust that You are in control and always know what is best because “…You, O Lord, are a God full of compassion, and gracious, longsuffering and abundant in mercy and truthPsalm 86:15.

Like the psalmist David, I come to you with the request in Psalm 86:1-4. “Bow down Your ear, O LORD, hear me; for I am poor and needy. Preserve my life, for I am holy; You are my God; save your servant who trusts in You! Be merciful to me O Lord, for I cry to You all day long. Rejoice the soul of Your servant, for to You, O Lord, I lift up my soul.”

Show me anything in my life that is a hindrance to You being able to work in and through me. “For You, Lord, are good, and ready to forgive, and abundant in mercy to all those who call upon YouPsalm 86:5.
As I grow in my walk with You, “teach me Your way, O LORD; I will walk in Your truth; unite my heart to fear Your namePsalm 86:11.

Lastly, I yield myself to You to be used by You as an example to those that You want to show Your mercy and other attributes. “Show me a sign for good, that those who hate me may see it and be ashamed, because You, LORD, have helped me and comforted mePsalm 86:17.

Thank you for guiding my prayer with this Psalm. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
