Lord, we come into Your presence today through the name of Your ultimate gift to us, Jesus. We are a world in need of a Savior, and You sent Jesus to redeem us from our sins. “For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord” Luke 2:11.
In Your love for us You gave Your only begotten Son, and today we stop and celebrate that gift and thank You for Him. You prophesied in Your Word (the Bible) that You would send Your son to die so that we could accept Him to be delivered from sin and live with You for eternity.
Thank you for recording all these events in Your Word, the Bible, and for announcing Jesus’ birth through the music of praise and thanksgiving sung by the Angels. The many Christmas songs that have been composed throughout the years and are still sung today are one of the many blessings we have for celebrating Jesus’ birth.
Luke 2:13-14 tells us, “and suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of heavenly host praising God and saying: “Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, goodwill toward men!“‘
We are forever grateful that You sent Your Son to enrich the world, turn darkness to light and despair into delight. Because of that, we can relate to that blessed Christmas chorus, “O come let us adore Him, Christ the Lord.” Thank you that we can bring this prayer in Jesus’ Name, Amen.
