Giving Heavenly Father, in Jesus’ Name, thank you for the truth in Psalm 100:3 “Know that the Lord, He is God; it is He who has made us, and not we ourselves; we are His people and the sheep of His pasture.” Because of who You are, I can respond to You with faith, reverence, and gratitude instead of fear and anxiety. Direct me to do Psalm 100:4-5. “Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, and into His courts with praise. Be thankful to Him, and bless His name. For the Lord is good; His mercy is everlasting, and His truth endures to all generations.“
You have given me so much to be thankful for, even when my circumstances seem grim. Give me the eyes and desire to see You at work no matter what is going on in my life and the world. This Thanksgiving holiday, I am grateful to You for the following spiritual and physical things: ___________. James 1:17 “Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning.“
Show me how to have giving thanks be an integral part of my relationship with You and my interactions with others. Ephesians 5:18b-20 “be filled with the Spirit, speaking to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord, giving thanks always for all things to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.” Direct me to carry this attitude beyond the holiday of Thanksgiving into my daily life.
In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
